Move to this remote Tasmanian island and they'll throw in a free house and job

If you've always dreamed of escaping the rat race in favour of a lush, mostly uninhabited island, the opportunity to live on a Tasmanian island is now on the table, relatively catch free. They'll even throw in a picturesque four-bedroom home, and give you a job for six months.

The Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service is looking for couples to apply to be caretakers of Maatsuyker Island, located off the southern coast of Tasmania between March to September or September to March over the next two years.

According to the application, for "safety reasons" they're calling out for couples to apply together if they "can demonstrate they have spent time together in a remote setting."

Depending on how much couple time you're into, this could be a dream, or sound eerily similar to the plot line of Stephen King's The Shinning. 

Thrown into the mix, is a gorgeous 19th century four-bedroom home, and a vegetable garden to grow all your own food — though if you're a black thumb, the only resupply visit at the three month mark might make you feel uneasy.

Duties include  maintenance of grounds, buildings and plant and equipment, and some weather observations for the Bureau of Meteorology.

Now here's the catch, you can only leave the island if via helicopter and in case of an emergency. And there's no internet or TV. Any takers?
