One mistake leads to disaster for Jess and Norm

It was an exciting start to Terrace week for Jess and Norm. They saw their much-needed crane deliver their materials to kick things off, including synthetic grass which would make their outdoor space pet friendly.

They were excited about their landscape architect Paaul Grant’s concept for their terrace and ready to get stuck in. The two are desperate to win this week, having failed to score a room win so far.

Then it all started to come undone.

Jess was recently commended for keeping a close eye on their budget, and she knew that while every cent would count for the terrace execution, they were just going to scrape in.

That immediately wiped their budget almost in half and left their landscaper feeling extremely nervous.

That was nothing compared to how Norm and Jess were feeling.

“You know when you just don’t know how you’re gonna get through it?” Jess asked, holding back tears.

But Jess is someone who rallies. She woke the next morning with a plan to raise $10,000 in a day, by selling anything unused or unwanted around the apartment.

Norm was impressed by her mettle and Jess was simply determined. Couches, artworks, armchairs, tables, nothing was off-limits.

She hit her target and then some… and that didn’t stop Jess. “I reckon I’ve got at least another two grand in me,” she said, delighted.

She didn’t go quite as far as joining Courtney for a shift at The Block Shop, but Jess had successfully managed to turn things around.

1300 screws… and Jess’s end total of the mega garage sale? $1300 bucks.
