The most unusual homes on the market right now

While some fear the property market may be cooling down as the weather hots up, there are still hundreds of homes around Australia hitting the market every week – including some very unusual real estate opportunities indeed.

From tiny homes smaller than a double garage, to an entire theme park for sale in South Australia, take a look at some of the country’s most unusual homes in the video above, as property expert Dr Nicola Powell from Domain shares some of the most interesting listings on the market at the moment.

Take a look around 'The Magical & Colourful Kingdom of Penolaraya' for sale in Penola, or a jetty in Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania that is set to be a hotly contested listing thanks to its potential to be developed into a prime home right on the water (literally).

A huge property trend from this year has been Australians choosing to relocate to Queensland, which has the highest inter-state migration of all of Australia’s jurisdictions. In the video above, you can also see inside some of the Sunshine Coast’s most magnificent homes for sale, including one built like a tree house on stilts and surrounded by tree tops. The ideal buy for nature-lovers, the four storey home also features a fully sized tree in the home, and offers space on the water to park a boat outside the property.  

From a four storey tree house to a tiny home, the video above also looks through the keyhole at a tiny studio apartment in Sydney that is just 25 square meters – the size of a one and a half car garage.

The compact property is still considered prime real estate despite its size thanks to its location just steps away from the famous Bondi beach. As a result, the studio unit is still expected to fetch at least $390,000 when it sells – around $15,600 per square meter.
