Hidden within clock tower perched above Manhattan, New York, is a luxury penthouse that looks like it should be home to Bruce Wayne AKA Batman.

Listed for $45 million, the striking tower which features 360 degrees of the New York skyline was the city's police HQ in a previous life before being transformed into a luxury home.

Set over four levels, the 510-square-metre home features four bedrooms, and two kitchens, and a knock-out circular living room which is accessed via either the spiral staircase or an elevator. But what really sets this place apart from the usual multi-million-dollar New York penthouses on the market is the recently discovered "dome sanctuary" — a secret room which was found hidden behind an old clock.

The penthouse is reported to be previously owned by fashion designer Calvin Klein and is back on the market at a reduced rate after being originally listed for $52 million.
