Four lighting trends from Maison & Objects 2016

Buyers and design insiders flock to Paris each January for the Maison & Objet, the largest interiors trade show in France. Although the event was significantly more under the radar than previous years—likely due to recent events in Paris—over 3,000 exhibitors showcased some exciting new products and ideas to watch out for this year.
Although there were plenty of innovative products on offer, lighting was where it's at in terms of embracing new trends for the year. Here's our handpicked selection of this year's standouts.

"Cherry" pendants from Petite Friture 

Stone lights from Tom Dixon

 
The marble trend isn't going anywhere this year. Tom Dixon design studio seems to agree with the use of the material in their new lighting range Stone. The lights feature layers of marble, glass and brass and a gold edge dipped light bulb.

Hollow by Dan Yeffet for Wonderglass

 
Debuting at this year's fair, Dan Yeffet's mesmerising hand-blown glass pendants will be available in various colours and sizes. The range taps into another continuing trend for this year: hand made. 

Lighting collection from Magic Circus

Bling was a big theme at this year's fair, and leading the way art-school graduate Marie-Lise Féry’s brand Magic Circus and their 1920s and 30s inspired hand-made pendant lamps. Each lamp is impressively made from mouth-blown opalescent glass.
