A little-known Kmart offering could spell the end of fruitless hunts for certain products.

Kmart has gone from strength to strength with its homewares offering, arguably leading the affordable and stylish home market segment.

Unfortunately, becoming popular (and reaching cult status with groups like Facebook Mums Australia) means that certain items sell out or are constantly unavailable. The victim of its own success.

A little-known Kmart offering could change that for some shoppers.

For certain items, Kmart will offer a ‘raincheck’.

9Homes reached out to a Kmart representative to ask about rainchecks.

“It is not a ‘service’ in the traditional sense, but it is something that we offer depending on the item,” the spokeswoman said.

“If it is a regular item, they’ll take your name and number and when the stock is back on the floor, they’ll give you call,” she explains.

The items need to be part of the regular roster, and for those products selling out constantly – you’re still left up to fate.

“They might not provide a raincheck on popular items that are selling out all the time,” says the Kmart representative.

Looks like the hunt for this boho textured cushion still rages on.

But for those items you always seem to just miss out on, a raincheck is an under-utilised service that could save you numerous trips to the Kmart vortex.
