Robby and Mat's Kitchen

Kitchen Week was the week Robby and Mat had been looking forward to most since starting the competition.
After delivering their "worst room yet" during Rumpus Week, they planned to pull out all the stops.

However, by the end of the week Robby admitted it felt like "The Block leant me over its knee and slapped me in the arse".
Descriptive!
Despite, the best mates were bloody obsessed with their finished kitchen and proud of themselves and each other for working so hard on it.
Scroll through to see what judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox thought of Robby and Mat's kitchen.
"The pain and ups and downs of this week was worth every bit of it, and I'll do it again every week to produce a room like that with my best friend," Robby said.
"It's a belter!" Mat agreed.

As Scotty began reading their feedback, it was clear the judges agreed with that assessment...
"Boys!" Shaynna excitedly reacted.
"I feel like I'm walking into a country estate!"
"It's SO country," Marty agreed, labelling it the "most Daylesford kitchen" of all five houses.
"But an upmarket, modern Daylesford kitchen," Shaynna continued.
Despite the huge floor space, Marty was struck by how he felt in the room.
"How cosy do you feel? It just wraps itself around you, doesn't it!?" he praised.
Shaynna agreed, saying it had "a lot to do with" their Nordic oak coloured cabinets, which tied in so well with their flooring and dining table.
Robby and Mat had rotated their island bench from the original floor plan, which the judges agreed was "the winning formula".
It was also "exactly the right size", according to Darren.
"This relationship between the kitchen and the lounge room feels like it's spacious enough to move," he said.
"Visually it's separate, so you have this lovely spatial and physical flow through this area, it couldn't be better."
It was then that the judges clocked Robby and Mat's unique inclusion: a secret door!
"I just love that so much," Darren said.
But then they took a closer look...
It looked cool, but up close the judges weren't sure it was the best choice.
"It looks great and the idea's there, it's super marketable, but that is not practical," Marty said.
The fact that it didn't create an "acoustic barrier" between the kitchen and main bedroom was a problem.
"It's a main suite. I mean, you want some privacy!" Darren reacted.
Plus, the loose knick-knacks on the shelves made way for a potential hazard/disaster – as they worried they'd fly off whenever the door opened and closed!
