The Block's Jesse responds to online backlash

Every TV show needs a villain, and for The Block 2019, it's everyone's favourite real estate guru: Jesse.

From questioning the well-meaning advice of the judges, to mentioning Shaynna Blaze's "lack of expensive taste", Jesse has received a fair amount of blowback online for his seemingly un-bruisable ego and stalwart self-assurance.

Jesse appeared on A Current Affair to discuss his time on The Block, and how he's reacted to viewers' opinions of him.

"Oh there's so much negative feedback. But honestly it's all keyboard war. I mean that's what you sign up for when you go into public life, accept criticism from the public," he said.

And there's no Block guru that Jesse has butted heads with more than Foreman Keith.

"[It] was very difficult. He's a clever man, so when he stirred me up I didn't really have fuel to go back at him. Yeah it was very different," Keith said of his experience of working with Jesse.

Jesse's main project now is selling the winning penthouse apartment from The Block 2015, fondly dubbed 'The Blocktagon'.

"You've got the whole city, and then south Yarra, and it's uninterrupted. I've never seen anything like it," Jesse said of the luxury Melbourne apartment.
