The 15 most popular wall paint colours on Instagram revealed

Instagram's top 15 paint colours have been revealed, with property advice website homehow.co.uk analysing paint colour hashtags to uncover the most popular by delving into hashtag quantities.

While an array of colours — from calming shades of blue to dusty pinks and deep greens — made the cut, it was Paris Grey from Zoffany Paints that took out the top spot.

While the analysis was carried out by a UK site, they're the same trends that we're seeing make their way into Aussie homes too.

See below the top 15 colours, and perhaps pick up a styling idea for your next home project.

1. Paris Grey | Zoffany

Paris Grey by Zoffany took top spot, but it's worth noting that the colour is often used in reference to painting furniture, as well as walls, which could account for a portion of the hashtags popularity.

2. Green Smoke | Farrow & Ball

We didn't expect a green to be so high up, but there's no doubt Green Smoke has calming affect on a space, and compliments white and wooden tones well.

3. French Grey | Little Green

French Grey is perfect for a neutral base that will fit into any home, and clearly compliments light wooden tones often seen in Scandinavian design.

4. Bancha | Farrow & Ball

This deep green will certainly make a statement in any home. Similar to Green Smoke, Bancha works well when paired with white, but the bold colour will also compliment darker wooden tones.

5. Jitney | Farrow & Ball
