House from The Castle to be split in two

It’s not a house, it’s a home. A man’s home is his castle.

Sorry to ruin the serenity of your day to bring you this news but Australia’s favourite fictional home, the Kerrigan house, is set to be sliced in half and have its roof removed.

That’s right, 3 Highview Crescent, Coollaroo which is actually 3 Dagonet Street, Strathmore is up for auction on July 26 and the buyer has to relocate the building as the block isn’t on offer – just the house. In order to do this, the home will need to be cut in two and then reassembled in its new location.

The cost of the home is estimated to be between $1000 to $10,000 – which although quite a wide range, is still relatively cheap to own this piece of Australian history.

The real cost is moving the property and reassembling, which will cost around $50K.

We hope that whoever buys it turns it into an Airbnb kitted out with a pool room, ergonomic chairs, a great set of gates and a driveway with a Camira, Torana, Commodore and Cortina.

The buyer owes it to Australia to restore the Kerrigan home. In summing up it's the constitution, it's Mabo, it's justice, it's law, it's the vibe and, no that's it, it's the vibe. I rest my case.
