How Frasier’s apartment would look with a 2018 makeover

First it was the apartments from Sex and the City, then it was the iconic FriendsFriends, now it’s Frasier’s Seattle condo that’s getting the redesign treatment with a 2018 makeover.

It’s been 25 years since the first episode of long-running sitcom Frasier first debuted on our TV screens. When we said goodbye to Dr. Crane after 11 seasons of hijinks and hilarity, he was headed for Chicago to win back Charlotte and was planning to relocate to San Francisco. As for the fate of his iconic Seattle pad, that was left open ended.

So, following in the vein of other iconic TV show sets that have been given a 2018 makeover, home design tool Modsy have reimagined what the apartment from one of the most beloved American sitcoms would look like today.

In the computer generated images of Frasier’s iconic apartment, there are many recognisable elements. The floor to ceiling windows with the incredible view, the woodwork, the art deco style doors, all remain the same. However other elements have been given a major update. Gone is the carpet and the wooden floor, replaced instead with a dramatic black marble.

Furniture may always have been a point of contention between Frasier and Martin, but perhaps with luxurious interiors like this redesign they would finally have seen eye-to-eye.

Frasier's favorite Eames lounge chair can still be seen taking pride of place in the room, and the grand piano still sits in the back corner of the living room, but new pieces such as the modern coffee table and architecturally designed chair give the space a contemporary edge.

We bid goodbye to Martin's beloved duct tape-ridden chair in the finale – and Modsy haven’t forgotten that either. A leather Milo Baughman recliner takes the place of the iconic chair in the apartment.

Modsy's Director of Style, Alessandra Wood revealed that the team who reimagined the apartment were careful to pay homage to Frasier’s original style – which they believe would have remained unchanged over the years.

Frasier was all about "design and craftsmanship over trend,” Alessandra said.

“He opted for timeless pieces that blended modern minimal with contemporary design," which is reflected in the redesign Modsy have created.
