Episode 35 recap: Sev in tears as rivals’ ‘frosty’ criticisms come to light
Cheers to the busiest week on The Block 2026 … and a share house gripe session, it seems.
It’s Wednesday for us, but the episode takes us back to Monday evening, when Chantel and Wyatt return from the gym to discover Jolene’s frosty note about them needing to wash their bowls – so they immediately retaliate with one of their own:
At least it says please? Nine
Chantel soon realises that it’s, just maybe, not the best message, so she updates it with a stunning self-portrait instead.
Oh, and flicks a cheeky text message to Courtney dobbing everyone else in for talking smack about House 4’s room over dinner.
The next morning, Wyatt gets up to make the oats that cause so many bowl-related dramas … only to discover his protein powder is gone.
No worries, though, because a man that big doesn’t go anywhere with just one container!
Gym bro rule #1: Always have back-up protein. Nine
On site, news travels fast. Foreman Dan knows what’s gone down before he’s even had his McCafé coffee!
Speaking of, barista Tina intently listens as Sev asks Lisa about the frosty evening. Mood.
Lisa jokes that Sev wouldn’t know, but on Mondays the group cooks together.
“Is that a passive-aggressive comment that I just copped?” Sev replies.
This annoys Lisa, which annoys Sev, which annoys Courtney. Like awkward, annoyed dominoes!
Once everyone finally makes it back to their houses, the stress of the week becomes clear.
Lisa recites a 326-point to-do list to Rosco. Tayla’s convinced having a tattoo station at an open house is the greatest idea in the world. Jolene is about 30 seconds from booking a plane ticket to get the hell out of here.
And while most teams are only redoing one space, Courtney and Sev have decided to update three.
With no time and no money. Genius.
But no matter what is going on, it seems there’s always time for coffee.
Back at McCafé, Chantel meets up with Courtney and Sev to go deep on the rest of the group’s comments.
“It’s coming from a really spiteful place, where they kind of think their rooms are better, but I’m like, ‘bro, your rooms are not better’“, Chantel says.
The “bitchiness” makes Sev emotional.
She did predict there would be tears this week! Nine
It makes Lisa emotional too, that someone’s stirred the pot and told Courtney and Sev.
She and Lisa talk it out and then thankfully, hug it out.
OK, just when you thought this week couldn’t get any stranger, Scott Cam and Shelley Craft are on site with special guests.
Melbourne Storm players?!
Each team is coached on how to throw a footy into a bin, which doesn’t help in the slightest, but after bringing in some tradie help House 2 walks away with a cash and snack prize.
Oh, crap.
Water is pouring into House 5.
Their chippy has nicked a pipe, Tayla is running around like a headless chook, Rick’s down on his (injured!) knee mopping it up … and then the plumber calmly turns off the water main.
Hmmm. Doesn’t look right. Nine
Ahhh, building-related chaos! I’ve missed you!
Tomorrow night, it’s the biggest, most important challenge of the year – and our first hint at how Auction Day could play out. Bring it on.
