Dea and Darren Jolly won't sell stunning Mornington Peninsula renovation

Serial renovators Dea and Darren Jolly are well under way in the renovations of a charming Sorrento cottage in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, but their plans to sell the home once the project is complete has been put on the back-burner after they revealed that this one may be too good to sell.

The BlockThe Block snapped up the home earlier this year for $1.88 million through Sotheby’s International and promptly began renovating and restoring the property using the leverage from the sale of another home they renovated in Kew East.

The couple pocketed a decent $120,500 profit from the renovation and sale of of the rebuild, which they sold for $2.6 million after .

Despite selling every property they've renovated since winning the 2015 season of The Block, Dea and Darren have told news.com.au they have finally "met their match" with the charming Sorrento cottage.

"Everything we've ever done, we've sold but because it's a beach house, we're keeping this one," Dea told the publication.

Dea and Daren have been busy sharing the renovation in progress via their Instagram D+D Home, along with plenty of beautiful interiors inspiration and furniture purchases for the project. 

In the video above, the couple show off some of their handy work. The character-filled four-bedroom home is filled with traditional 1900s features including a wrap-around porch, 3.5-metre high ceilings, sash windows and original fireplaces. 

"Everything that’s original we’ll keep. Period houses are our thing,” she said. "Particularly this one. We just want to bring it back to what it would’ve been originally — before it was renovated in the 1940s," Dea told news.com.au. "We’re reinstating the original old fireplace in the living room that we found the footings for."

The series, the five couples will restore and renovate older-style in Melbourne's Elsternwick. 

The massive blocks of land measure in at a whopping 470-square-metres. Each home will have a brand new extension added, with open-plan living, dining and kitchen, as well as a spacious upstairs master suite with walk-in robes and ensuite.

The new series is off to a cracking start, as new contestants struggling with the scale of the project, and rifts over budgets erupting between couples. 

In the backyard there will be ample room to create a plentiful outdoor entertaining space, and to top it all off a triple garage and self-contained studio apartment.

Network Nine will stay in Melbourne for its 2018 season, having purchased the infamous Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda, strip for $10 million.
