Located within the Caniçada valley in Portugal's only national park, this horizontally-designed home by architects Carvalho Araújo was constructed to replace a structure which was demolished due to landslide risks. The new form, titled Gerês House, uses the steep sloping landscape to its advantage by crafting ascending levels into the hillside.
