Brooklyn-style studio apartment will play to your monochrome-loving heart

This newly completed two-bedroom apartment for a young couple in Moscow, Russia, hits all the right notes for minimalist loft and anyone who has a penchant for monochrome.

The clients were looking to create a Brooklyn-style loft apartment with clean forms and a black and white palette in an existing space which dates back to 1900.

The success of the project comes down to its architects, Crosby Studios, who designed and built much of the furniture in the apartment. They crafted the kitchen table, island bar, coffee tables, sink and faucet in the bathroom, the hammock and glass partitions which separate the bedroom and studio from the living space.

At 64 square metres the conservatively sized home feels much larger due to its design which catches the sun all day, creating a light and airy feel to the home.

A narrow corridor and the entranceway leads through the open-plan living area, which is zoned into a sitting area with hammock and large window, a large dining table and kitchen with island bench.

The bedroom and office were moved from the original floor plan to create light and ventilation in the spaces. The master bedroom houses a small dressing room and a bathroom with black fixtures and mosaic tiles.

A white jointless floor covers the whole apartment.
