The $8 Kmart hack Mums are using for toilet training

It’s an $8 Kmart joke gift Mums are taking very seriously, as it could help your children use the bathroom at night without fear.

I, an adult, can easily become disoriented when making my way to the bathroom in the dead of night. It is little wonder that children easily develop fears of using the loo in the dark; who knows what monsters lurk in its porcelain depths! The notorious Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group has come to the rescue with a solution, this time from a surprising section of the store.

Anyone with little ones knows that night time toilet runs can be a bit of an ordeal. You will be woken at all times of the evening to accompany them to the bathroom.

One Mum in Kmart Mums Australia discovered her saviour in the Kris Kringle section of the retail giant.

“The $8 toilet seat light in the Kris Kringle section makes a great night light for if my two kids need to get up for a midnight wee,” she wrote on her post.

“It switches on when it senses motion and then turns off automatically after a minute or two. Plus you can choose to fix it on one colour or let it circulate through the rainbow while you do your business.”

The post has 2.2K likes and over 400 comments from thrilled parents, exclaiming they need it immediately.

Many were desperately trying to find it online, to no avail, and asking where to find it (in the Kris Kringle section).

Other Mums came forward with their own appropriation of the device.

“I bought this and hung it outside the toilet door it senses when they go and lights up I didn’t like the germ factor of getting out of the toilet to change batteries.”

Although not everyone was sold, with one member commenting, “Looks like a mix between my worst nightmare and a 90's rave party.”
