Woman completely transforms bathroom tiles with stunning paint job

There are plenty of ways to refresh your home on a budget and tile stencils are becoming a very popular option.

DIY fans have been using stencils along with tile paint to create beautiful designs in bathrooms, but one woman is regretting her decision to do it.

Dani decided to replicate the look and ended up hand painting the entire floor, which took a staggering 12 hours to finish after the project didn't quite go to plan.

Sharing her transformation in the Facebook group DIY On A Budget UK, she explained why she regretted taking on the project after the third tile.

"I thought I was being thrifty by making a stencil myself but the paint was too thin and kept bleeding underneath the stencil, so I gave up and free handed it," she wrote.

But hand painting was a serious undertaking. Dani said it took around 40 minutes per tile and admitted she started to rethink the whole thing early into the task.

With an estimate of 20 tiles at 40 minutes each, the project was looking like 10-12 hours on her hands and knees painting on the design.

"I tried sealing it with a floor coating but the paint was scratching instantly, so I made the risky decision of using clear varnish and so far so good," she added.

The time and effort that went into it has paid off because people in the group were wowed by her patience and the overall finished design.

"Can't believe you did all that by hand wow. Well done you," commented one user.

Another added, "Wow a true work of art and passion."

Others described the tile design as "fantastic" and "stunning" in the comments.

The black and white design definitely does make a big impact on the space and it's no surprise she got such praise for sharing the post.
