This year marks 20 incredible seasons of The Block, and to celebrate we're taking a trip down memory lane in our Around The Block series. You can watch all of the action in the video above.

Ahead of The Block's 2024 season on Phillip Island, join us as we revisit some of the biggest moments, wildest auction results and more across all 20 seasons. Here's a look back at Season 18...

By 2022, we'd seen Block auctions that had produced all sorts of results; from record-breakers to ultimate heart-wrenchers.

But in Season 18, Auction Day had us going through a rollercoaster of emotions when Omar and Oz pocketed $1,586,666.66... and just minutes later, fan-favourites Tom and Sarah-Jane walked away with just $20,000.

As the first to go to auction, Omar and Oz set the bar high when a new potential buyer Adrian Portelli sparked a bidding war between himself and long-time Block buyer Danny Wallis.

"This is an absolute Block record unfolding hear right now," Shelley Craft said from the viewing room.

Jaws dropped and cheers erupted as the hammer went down, confirming the boys' multi-million dollar win.

But the mood was chalk and cheese as the next team, Tom and Sarah-Jane, nervously watched their auction play out.

After 12 weeks of tireless work, the couple managed to walk away with just $20,000.

"No f--king way! How do you go from $1.5 million to 20 grand," co-star Ryan outraged.

"I don't know what to say...you didn't deserve that, you deserved a lot more. It's just such a contrast from before," Scott Cam said in disbelief.

Auction Day wasn't the only unbelievable moment of Season 18.

Just a few days after filming began, influencer Elle Ferguson and partner, ex-AFL player Joel Patfull quit The Block before the competition had truly begun.
