The top 5 features in Tom and Sarah-Jane's winning Kitchen

Tom and Sarah-Jane have proven to be a force to be reckoned with after taking out three consecutive Room Reveal wins back-to-back on The Block.

The couple blew judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Neale Whitakeron Sunday.

They not only received the highest score of the night, but also got the perfect score of 30 out of 30.

Here are the top five features in Tom and Sarah-Jane's kitchen:

1. Functionality

One huge big tick for the judges was how Tom and Sarah-Jane incorporated functionality in their kitchen by having distinct cooking, cleaning and preparation zones.

The well-thought-out space included a bin in the cupboard on one side of the sink and a dishwasher on the other side of the sink.

Another big tick for Darren was the space Tom and Sarah-Jane considered in their cleaning zone when compared to how much a resident might need for washing up.

"One of my biggest bugbears is having a sink that you can't put a tray in, especially a tray from a big oven," Darren said.

"So they've actually thought of the functionality of this kitchen in terms of the five zones

2. ILVE Majestic oven

The three design experts stopped in their tracks to admire Tom and Sarah-Jane's ILVE Majestic oven.

What caught their attention next was the size of it. Shaynna extended her arms out and was in awe of how massive it was.

"I can only just reach the ends of it," she said.

The oven was a beautiful blue colour that featured copper finishes. The judges thought the pair picked an appliance in colours that worked beautifully with the palette of the room, and their contemporary country style.

3. Choice of fridges 

All three judges were "awestruck" by the team's beautiful brushed rose gold coloured fridge and their charcuterie fridge which Darren described as "pure luxury".

Shaynna, Darren and Neale commended the couple's colour choice and how well it tied in with different elements around the room, particularly the copper pots hanging on the wall.

The surprises didn't stop there. Shaynna was shocked to discover a charcuterie, cheese and wine fridge in the kitchen.

Even though Shaynna doesn't eat meat, she wanted one for herself.

"Wow, wow," she added.

4. Metal finishes

The judges were impressed with how well the rose gold fridge, copper pots, brass tapware and steel rangehood all worked together in the kitchen. The judges admitted mixing metal finishes usually doesn't work, but Tom and Sarah-Jane managed to pull it off.

"The metal is a colour that ties in with another colour in the space, which is how you can blend these things, that complexity together – that is mastery," Darren said.

5. Pot filler tap

The decision to include a pot filler tap in their kitchen was a Block first.

The interesting feature is an extendable tap that allows easy access to water while cooking.

And when the judges spotted it sitting above the stove top, they were impressed.

"It's really well designed," Darren said.

The beautiful brass coloured tap can be tucked away neatly against the wall when not in use and can be extended outwards above the stove when needed.
