Yellowstone star James Jordan announces engagement to make-up artist fiancée Debra Schrey: 'She said yes!'

Yellowstone star James Jordan is engaged!

The actor, who played controversial livestock agent Steve Hendon in the beloved series, announced his engagement to Hollywood make-up artist Debra Schrey in September 2025.

"She said yes! We're up in Santa Ynez celebrating. Thanks to the folks at Matties Inn in Los Olivos for helping make it a surprise, and the crew @barlecote for making a great dinner. We're so happy!" Jordan celebrated on Instagram.

He shared a photo of himself celebrating while Schrey flashed her new ring to the camera.

Schrey is a three-time Emmy nominee and the makeup department head for Stan exclusive series Hacks.

Jordan is a long-time collaborator of Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, with recurring roles in Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Lioness and Landman.

The couple debuted their relationship on Instagram in September 2023, atfter each working alongside Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman and Zoe Saldana on Lioness.

Co-stars were among those sending well wishes and congratulations to the couple.

"YOU GUYS!!!!!! So happy for yall!!!! Congratulations!!!!" celebrated House of Cards and Lioness star Michael Kelly.

"Awww YES!! CONGRATS buddy!!" wrote Robyn Lively, who starred alongside Jordan in both Lioness and Landman.

Rob Kirkland, who played Sheriff Bill Ramsey in Yellowstone, said: "CONGRATS!👊🏾🎉"

Who did James Jordan play in Yellowstone?

Jordan's Yellowstone character Steve Hendon appeared in Seasons 2 and 3, and made a guest appearance in Season 4.

As a livestock agent, Steve worked with Kayce Dutton.

Although loyal, the character could become overly aggressive. During Season 3, he accidentally killed two men accused of beating a barrel racer and was aided in covering it up by Jamie Dutton.

The hit series came to an end in December 2024 after five seasons.

Yellowstone's explosive finale saw the end of the Dutton Ranch. In an effort to protect the land and his family legacy, Kayce Dutton sold the ranch to Thomas Rainwater for $1.25 an acre, the same price his ancestors paid when they settled there.

Meanwhile, Beth and Rip purchased their own ranch near Dillon, Montana.

What's next for the Yellowstone universe?

While the original family ranch is no more, Sheridan's universe is only getting bigger and bigger.

Upcoming spin-off The Dutton Ranch will have Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, as they try to hold on to the 7,000 acre ranch they fought so hard for.

It joins prequels 1883 and 1923 as well as two more upcoming spinoffs.

Michelle Pfiffer will lead a Paramount+ offshoot titled The Madison while Luke Grimes reprises his role as Kayce Dutton in Y: Marshals, expected to hit screens in 2026, for American network CBS.

Two additional projects, titled 1944 and 6666, were previously announced as being in development.
