MAFS 2020 Episode 28 recap: A very emotional decision is made at the final Commitment Ceremony
After the honesty cards proved somewhat of a damp squib at the last Dinner Party, failing to inspire the kind of fireworks the nation and Michael were after, it's time for the FINAL Commitment Ceremony.
Yes, you read that right. The final Commitment Ceremony and Final Vows are on the way.
We're not far from finding out if these relationships are going to stick or not.
Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets.
I bet Trisha will grill someone hard about their intimacy. Nine
Here are my predictions at the moment:
LIZZIE & SEB: Likely to stay and make it to Final Vows.
KC & DREW: Will probably stay, make it to Final Vows and announce their breakup on Instagram a month after the show ends.
MICHAEL & STACEY: A bomb's gonna drop before Final Vows, I can feel it.
CONNIE & JONETHEN: Come on, be serious.
MISHEL & STEVE: Cya.
We do have some news — Michael is being sent to Melbourne for three months for work — after the experiment ends. This is worrying Stacey, because I guess Michael is more likely to cheat — SORRY, dance on someone — again if he's in a different city?
I think that bomb might drop faster than I expected.
MISHEL & STEVE
Steve begins by talking about how he feels they've had a good week, trying to be more intimate.
Trisha's ears prick up and she immediately gets into it: "Have you shared a bed?"
Steve says no and Trisha looks absolutely crushed.
Steve feels like his attraction is slowly burgeoning, but Mishel has pulled away from that a little bit.
John Aiken brings the heat. "Guys, you started off as friends and eight weeks later you're still friends. We've had the same conversation the last four or five commitment ceremonies. It's not going anywhere now, it's not going anywhere in the future. I'm calling BS on this."
I will do anything to avoid this kind of reaction from John. Nine
AIKEN WITH THE FIRE. He has had it. HE'S NOT HERE TO MAKE FRIENDS AND NEITHER ARE YOU LOT.
Steve is angry about John's comments, but everything makes Steve angry.
After some more discussion, Mishel writes stay, as does Steve. OK. Let's all move on.
KC & DREW
Pretty uneventful.
KC and Drew recap the ups and downs of their week and both write stay with a love heart on the page.
STACEY & MICHAEL
Stacey and Michael are here to address the new long-distance challenges that have been placed in front of them.
They are planning to do a long-distance relationship for three months. Stacey is very worried about it though, and not sure if their relationship is solid enough to survive the move, but is happy to try and pursue it.

The experts encourage them to try and look at this as just the next stage of their relationship and to have a little faith in their ability to survive the separation.
Both Stacey and Michael write stay.
LIZZIE & SEBASTIAN
Lizzie and Seb recap the contentious lunch they had with Lizzie's family, and mention the fact that Lizzie's family are not big fans of Seb's lack of a savings account.
The experts ask what happens if Lizzie's family doesn't approve of Seb in the long run. She says they will come around, but it's going to be difficult for her to continue in the relationship in the long run if they don't — and most of her boyfriends don't even get to this stage.
They talk at length about how into each other they are, and both write stay.
CONNIE & JONETHEN
Connie is battling to speak a bit, so Jonethen steps in to do most of the talking early on. They are still failing to make that connection, though, and Connie is very, very upset and it's really difficult to watch.
Things are not improved by the fact Jonethen writes leave for the second week in a row, and Connie needs to take some time out to gather her thoughts.
Connie initially wrote leave, it seems — and had packed her bags to go — but in the end decided that she had come so far she may as well see it through to the end. At the very last moment, she decided to write stay.
Jonethen is wondering if maybe he hadn't communicated his emotions properly — YEAH, MAYBE, DUDE — and that had led to Connie staying.
We know it's about the emotions but Connie looks fresh at this CC. Nine
The experts are happy that they are staying, partly because they feel like while they probably don't have a future as a couple, they have both grown as people — and that might be able to continue.
