Martha's Red Wine Moment: Former MAFS bride's sassiest reactions to Dinner Party #1
Martha's Red Wine Moment is back in 2021. The former Married At First Sight bride, who first appeared in Season 6, is now a reformed wine thrower, but she's still got opinions.
Every week we'll bring you Martha's thoughts and reactions to the drama from this year's Dinner Parties. Here's her take on the first Dinner Party of Season 8…
"New season, new hair, new chair, same f---ing tragic set…"
OK, now that we've got that out of the way, let's get straight to Martha's thoughts on the Dinner Party, 'cause that's what we're really here for, right?
Cheers to the return of Martha's Red Wine Moment. Nine
Martha's got a lot of time for the brides in the group.
"I love Samantha," she said. "She's just like a real… a real gal, hard yakka, a 'hard-earned-thirst is a big cold beer' — that type. I like her."
As for her husband?
"I don't like Cameron."
Her eyes lit up when Belinda and Patrick made their entrance.
"Oh my God, I love Belinda!... and Patrick. She's so cute, her little performance she did at the wedding, like she really wants to make it work," she said. "And Patrick is just a sweet boy, you can't be mad at Patrick, ever."
And then: "Melissa's so cute. I can't stand Bryce."
Are we sensing a theme here?
The brides of Season 8 generally put a smile on Martha's face. Nine
When Martha described Bryce, a Disney villain came to mind.
"I feel like they've taken on these roles, like him, the a--hole, and her, 'I'm sorry that you're an a--hole'. And it's like he is two different people," she commented. "Sometimes he's like charismatic fun guy, then he turns into Jafar."
There was one bride she had a word of warning for: Bec, when she complained about Jake in front of her friends and said, "He makes 32 seem really old."
"B---h, careful," she said, putting down her wine. (Martha is 32.)
Samantha and Cameron's crumbling marriage was a big talking point at the Dinner Party. Martha was impressed with the way Samantha said hello to Cameron at the cocktail party, after they both walked in solo.
Cam copped some side-eye from Bec at the Dinner Party... and some words from Martha. Nine
"I always wait for them to greet because I just feel like… I'm always nice, you know?" Martha said, perhaps referring to her recent appearance at the MAFS Grand Reunion. "So if they're not saying hi then f--- them. But I think, good on her for saying hello."
And while Sam (the groom) may not have shown much appreciation for his wife Coco's body, after telling her on their honeymoon that he "likes a woman with a bit of curve", Martha sure did.
"Coco — what is that body? That is a work of art," she said.
