Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson has opened up about “one of the worst stages” of her life in an emotional new video.

The Season 8 bride, 37, who shares four-year-old twins with husband Bryce Ruthven, apologised to fans for not being “online” as she spoke of motherhood and marriage in a candid Instagram Story.

“A couple of years ago, right before we moved to Queensland, I would say I was at one of the worst stages of my life in terms of depression and anxiety that everyone seems to face at some point,” she began.

“And it’s taken me this long. It was only the last few weeks that I started realising how much better I was feeling.”

Liss and the family moved from Melbourne to Queensland in October 2024 after the sudden passing of her father, noting it was a “time for change”.

However, during this transition stage, Liss revealed Bryce was living in a different state for work, something the two agreed upon.

“Back then I was binge-eating, my skin was horrific, my mouth had all sorts of splits and my acne was terrible,” she revealed.

“Even though I thought those days were behind me, I was crying hysterically and that’s been the last couple of years now.”

The mum explained things were difficult because she was raising twin boys Levi and Tate, (aged around three to four at the time) in a different state on her own, and with the help of her mother-in-law.

“On top of all the emotions that I was experiencing, Bryce was living in a different state and our marriage was having a really hard time,” she admitted.

She apologised for not being “online” and hoped to be posting more updates with fans soon.

“But being offline has been quite wonderful, but I do miss the community that I have and speaking with people,” she said.

While the tantrums are “next level, still”, Liss admitted they are at a “really good” age at the moment.

“The boys are just so sweet and kind,” she smiled.

Liss and Bryce met on Season 8 of MAFS and went on to marry in real life. They welcomed twin boys Levi and Tate in October 2021.
