She hadn't seen or heard from her father in 13 years.

Liss said that while she sadly wasn't surprised with the news due to his lifestyle choices, she'd always held onto a "small glimmer of hope" the pair would one day reconcile.

"My father will never know me as the woman I grew up to be, one he could hopefully be proud of," she wrote. "He will never meet or know his grandchildren.

"I have grieved since a young age for a father who was never around. Now, I am grieving for a second time."

The poignant and honest message continued with Melissa saying she felt a myriad of feelings about what happened – some that even she didn't expect.

The overarching were that of "anger, sadness, regret and shame."

After not listening to it for 16 years, Liss said that now she can't stop playing it.

"In moments like this, I realise; Life is short," she concluded. "If you're ready, don't let that moment of forgiveness pass you by. For there may be a time when you will never, ever get the opportunity again."

Melissa is no doubt being supported by her loving partner Bryce, who she met and fell in love with on MAFS in 2021.
