MAFS' Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli clash over a family matter in first episode of their new vodcast The Morning Roast
Married At First Sight's Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have clashed over a family matter in the very first episode of their vodcast The Morning Roast.
The debacle all began when Martha's dad and mum Mary took off on a six-week holiday in Greece.

In that time, Martha – who lives with fiancé Michael, one-year-old son Lucius and her mum and dad in her parent's house – took it upon herself to begin renovations. She went as far as to hire a builder, knocked down walls and began demolition.
"That's not a normal thing to do," Michael flared at Martha.

Michael just couldn't wrap his head around how Martha made the decision to knock down the walls in her parent's home.
"It's not your house!" he snapped.
But for Martha, it was an easy decision to make.
"I thought if I'm going to be here I can't live like this. I'm a doer! I get things done," she quipped.

Owner of the house and Martha's mum Mary sat in on the vodcast and revealed how she really felt when she discovered renovations had begun on her house.
"I walk through the door and I see that my lounge is gone, coffee table gone," Mary began.
"As I walk around the corner I see the builder sitting on the arch knocking the wall down and that's when I went 'oh my f--king God.
"It took a while for everything to sink in because it was like it was surreal."

Now, Mary is well and truly on board with the renovations and has plans to redo the whole house.
"I've been indecisive for five years I didn't know whether to move or stay and renovate and now Martha's made that decision," she said.
On the other hand, Martha wasn't so sure that her father would be so forgiving.
"I thought my dad was going to lose his s--t. I thought mum, I can talk her into it and I can convince her it's a good idea," she admitted.

While renovating a house that's technically not yours might be a contentious issue for some families, the Kalidatidis-Brunelli clan were sweet with it.
Mary happily said the house was as much Martha and Michael's as it was theirs.
That was great news for Martha, who said she and Michael would likely be living there for another two years.

In the past, Martha has clapped back at critics who questioned her and Michael's choice to live under the same roof as her parents.
"Our living arrangement has nothing to do with money," she clarified in a past Q&A with fans.
"The sad thing is you probably believe we live with my parents to capitalise off of the situation, that is furthest from the truth."
In reality, Martha said they enjoy living in a multigenerational home.
"Living with my parents brings us closer, fosters mutual support, and creates a rich environment where wisdom and experience blend.
"It also brings my parents happiness."
