Exclusive: Beth and Teejay reveal reason for break-up as bride calls it quits right before Final Vows: 'It was horrible'

EXCLUSIVE: Beth made the shocking decision to pull the plug on her marriage to Teejay for good, right before the Married At First Sight Final Vows.

For Beth it was a simple: "I don't want to stand there, put on another dress like I did on my wedding day, pour my heart out to you, pour my emotions out to you for you to just reject me again," she told now ex-husband Teejay.

It was a bitter split for Beth and Teejay, whose marriage was quite strong until Teejay realised his feelings weren't growing.

In an exclusive interview, which you can watch above, the pair reflect on their relationship and try to poinpoint the reason for their break-up.

"Going through the motions of starting off really strong, having a great connection and then ending the way we did, it was horrible," Beth said.

"It's definitely not what I expected and to be honest I still don't know where things went wrong."

After weeks of trying to win Teejay over, Beth realised she didn't want to "force things".

"My man is out there somewhere," she said.

Teejay said it wasn't the end he wanted for him and Beth but he understood that their connection had fizzled.

"I was struggling to differentiate if this was a really strong friendship or a relationship," he said.

"I understand it's hard to hear that the person you've spent seven weeks with doesn't see a future outside the experiment.

"But I didn't want to lie about how I felt and string her along."

Teejay still held onto hope that Beth would remain in his life even if it was just as a friend.

"I'd hate to not have her as part of my life."

Beth said despite things not working out with Teejay, coming into the experiment has given her a "new lease on life".

"I'm ready to take on the world now."
