"Do you see a future with me?" sounds like a simple yes or no question, but not for Married At First Sight bride Julia.
Despite appearing really solid early in the experiment, an uncomfortable time on the Commitment Ceremony couch and an even more awkward Intimacy Week task led her husband Grayson to become confused about where he stood.

While the idea of Intimacy Week is to bring the couples closer together, Grayson felt like so far it had had the exact opposite effect.
"It's super deflating. She uses words like leaning in and getting curious and there's zero of it," he explained.
He was desperate for clarity about where he stood with Julia, so he asked her outright.
"I'm really confused about how you actually feel about me ... Can you see any kind of future with me?" Grayson said, requesting a simple yes or no.
"If we're able to communicate and there's emotional safety in terms of my needs, that's the path," Julia replied.

Grayson felt he was way more invested than his wife. Nine
As he pressed for a less ambiguous answer, Julia said it felt like she was in court.
"This is so nuanced," she argued.
Unable to get on the same page, Grayson said he felt like he was "absolutely wasting [his] time".
"I'm getting hurt, I'm starting to feel hurt. I've been so invested in this but I'm just not getting any sort of reciprocation," he said.

The disagreement came after Julia presented Grayson with her "ultimate female fantasy night", homework from a workshop with clinical sexologist Alessandra Rampolla.
While many of the brides opted for things you'd expect, involving lingerie and massages, Julia's was a little unconventional ... and in the eyes of her husband, not even a little bit sexy.

Julia created a question game, where she asked Grayson things such as "At school, were you bullied?" and "Has a stranger ever changed your life?"
It meant a lot to Julia, who said connecting in this way was "really sacred" to her.
However, Grayson's disappointment was written all over his face.
Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm and Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
