"It actually just shows there is so much misunderstanding, and it's just such an easy scapegoat. 'Oh, she just wanted to be with a woman'. I've heard that being echoed in the public. Having that come up on set just felt like a very easy dig at me," Julia said.

Julia reiterated she simply wanted a person whose emotional intelligence matched hers.

"It never had anything to do with gender," she said.

Whether it be Grayson or other co-stars like Gia alleging she would have preferred to be matched with a woman, Julia was sick and tired of the narrative.

"It felt really tiring and exhausting to constantly be explaining to him personally that it wasn't that."

Grayson said he didn't believe the claims that Julia would prefer to be matched with a woman until she failed to categorically deny it at the Commitment Ceremony.

"When the experts asked her, she said, 'I don't recall saying that.' For me there was no certainty," Grayson said.

Despite his disappointment, Grayson said "there's no bad blood there" between him and Julia.

Julia looked back on her MAFS experience with fondness.

"I am really proud of the kindness I displayed. I'm coming across a little quirky and eccentric, and that's fine. I am a bit wacky, and that's who I am but I really did try to conduct myself with respect and love," she said.

"I am proud of the way I conducted myself and I really did try my very best."
