"Adelaide's a very small place and Alissa and I, at that point, we shared three mutual friends," the bride explained.

Bec revealed that when word got out both Alissa and her would be joining MAFS "people definitely reached out to me".

However, the bride said people reached out to her "unsolicited, with information, but at no point did I ever seek out information about Alissa to dig into her life."

Instead, Bec said she was hoping to "repair" her relationship with Alissa.

"If I had been digging around, that would have completely undermined my intentions," she said. "It simply did not happen, it's not true."

The bride revealed she has since messaged Alissa trying to get to the bottom of who made the original claims.

She also clarified she had never met or spoken to Alissa's friend who shared the information to Alissa during Friends and Family week.

When Alissa's husband David confronted Bec about the claims, Bec wanted to set the record straight.

"I'm currently on an apology tour and a truth tour and if I had done that, in order to not have an issue with you guys later on, I would tell you," she responded at the dinner table.

"But I swear to you I haven't."

At the time, Alissa was "disgusted" by the claims.

Joining Today Extra, the bride said she was "still scratching" her head as to why her co-star would want to dig up "dirt" about her past.

"Obviously as I'm watching the show, I do feel sorry for [Bec] because there are a lot of insecurities really bubbling to the surface," Alissa told the hosts.

"My heart really does got out to her."

"We always had each other's back and sat together and held each other's hand if we needed to.

"He wasn't happy. I think at that point we were all getting pretty sick and tired of the nonsense and the noise."

Alissa said she was "proud" of how maturely David handled his confrontation with Bec.

"That's how you're meant to approach things, in a mature way, not yelling and screaming."
