Watch: An unusual request leaves Paul stunned as Carina's 'strict' parents step in during Homestays on MAFS 2025: 'It's an issue'
Carina and Paul were hoping to reconnect as they headed into Homestays Week on Married At First Sight.
But there was one more test Paul didn't expect to face, as he packed his bags for Carina's family home in Perth.

"My parents are quite welcoming," Carina began. "However, a male under their roof, that's my husband, yeah that's another story.
"They're going to be quite protective...and strict."

Time to face the in-laws. Nine
Paul quickly learned that when you live under your in-laws' roof, you've got to abide by their rules and that meant sleeping in a separate room to wife Carina.
"We're Catholic and we believe in the sanctity of marriage and for me that's something that is probably a bit of an issue at the moment," Carina's mum Carmel explained.
"They're married but not in the law and the eyes of the church so they need to learn that when they come into the family home they just need to be separated until they decide what their future was going to hold," she continued.
Paul didn't mind staying in a different room but he was a little taken aback by all the religious symbols in every corner.
Carina couldn't help but laugh.

"I do think mum is definitely trying to send Paul a message," she smiled.
"He actually has no idea what else is coming. Hopefully he doesn't get a fright," she added.
