MAFS expert John Aiken shares advice for complicated relationship dilemmas: 'I want my boyfriend to propose this year...'
Married At First Sight expert John Aiken has seen it all in relationships, so he's a pretty handy guy to have on the couch when you need some advice.
This Valentines Day, John appeared on Today Extra to deliver words of wisdom for some viewers who found themselves with love dilemmas.

One question involved a problem that John admitted he'd seen before.
"I really want my boyfriend to propose this year, but I don't want to tell him outright. How do I plant the idea in his head?" one person asked.

"I think I might've had this at some stage along the way," he joked, before sharing a subtle way to address it.
"Talk about couples goals for the future, 2025, 2026. 'Where are we at as a couple? Do you see a future for us? An engagement?
"And that will just get them starting to think about it."

He said by 'sowing the seed', "hopefully that will then get the conversation going".
John also had a very clear answer for a viewer who asked for advice about how to navigate their feelings for their friend's partner – yep, that's a very sticky situation!
