"This is going to be a shock for man, as much as it has been for ourselves, and a sad day," Liam's message began.

"But myself and Samuel would like to let you all know we will be taking a break on our relationship and not moving forward as a 'couple' for now."

Both Liam and Samuel issued almost identical statements following the split in April 2023. Instagram

Both Liam and Samuel said they believed that because they entered the relationship "very publicly and in the public" eye it was only right to be "transparent" with their fans and followers.

"We are best friends, soul mates and will remain doing life together and everything else including living together," Liam wrote.

"But we are using this time to find each other again and who knows what the future will hold."

Even though the pair had split, it was clear there were hopes of a relationship rekindling.

"We both love one another immensely and that will never change and we hope we can reassess this when the time is right," Samuel wrote.

The sudden news came as surprise to many as Liam and Samuel enjoyed a tropical Bali holiday together just weeks before the split.
