The major twist coming to Love Island UK as the public are asked to 'play Cupid'
The brand new season of Love Island UK is just one day away from being available to stream in Australia on June 8 on Love Island UK, after being fast-tracked from the UK.
For the first time ever, viewers have been given the opportunity to decide who the first couples will be in Season 8 rather than the Islanders.
The show's voiceover Iain Stirling confirmed the major twist on ITV talk show Lorraine last week, revealing that fans in the UK would be able to choose who would be paired together via the Love Island app.

Iain announced: "This year, for the first year ever we want you guys at home to play Cupid, and you will have your say on which boy couples up with which girl.
"I feel like the viewers at home, you get to look at all the Islanders, get a vibe, see who you think suits who, or maybe who isn't suited to who and put them together and we can watch the fireworks fly…"
Usually, the girls and boys line up by the pool and take turns in deciding who they want to be matched with – making this year's season a whole new ball game.

UK viewers have already chosen which couples will be together, as the new season aired on the UK on June 6.
The show will be fast tracked and available to watch in Australia from June 8, with episodes then dropping daily on 9Now.

A batch of 11 hot singles were announced to appear on the show on the hunt for love earlier this year.
Tasha Ghouri, 23, will be the show's first deaf Islander.
"I think they'd [Tasha's friends] say I'm inspirational because of my hearing and my cochlear implant," she said.

While the series starts with five girls and five boys, new Islanders are constantly rotated into and out of the Villa.
Laura Whitmore will return as the host of the show, after she began hosting it in Season 6.
