Mitchell declares his love for Phoebe in the most romantic way on Love Island Australia 2022
Ever since Mitchell made things official with Phoebe by popping the "girlfriend" question, three little words have been hanging in the balance.
And while Phoebe admitted she felt ready to say "I love you", Mitchell officially beat her to it.

In Episode 27, on a romantic date outside the Villa, Mitchell confessed his love for Phoebe during a Spanish language class.

While they struggled for most of the lesson, Mitchell raised his hand to ask a very important question.
"Can I ask you how to say a certain phrase?" he asked the teacher.
Mitchell got up and whispered into the teacher's ear and shortly after the teacher wrote the phrase "te querio" on the chalkboard.
Phoebe looked confused, but went along with the antics anyways.
"Te querio," Mitchell said as he looked into Phoebe's eyes.

She repeated the phrase back.
"I don't know what I'm saying," she laughed.
"It means, 'I love you'," the teacher explained.
Phoebe leaned in for a kiss after realising what Mitchell had just said.
"You love me?" Phoebe giggled.
"I love you," Mitchell confirmed.

The pair sealed the deal with a kiss. Nine
Following their date, Mitchell raised a glass.
"To falling in love," he toasted.
And when he asked Phoebe how he felt about saying those all important words, she said she was "happy".
"I wanted to say it first," she said.
"But I'm glad we're on the same page."
"I beat you to it," Mitchell laughed.
