Exclusive: Jason reveals why he decided to leave the Love Island Australia Villa after just 24 hours

During Episode 19, Jason shocked the Islanders when he announced he was leaving the Love Island Australia Villa.

Jason had flown all the way from Adelaide to hopefully rekindle his romance with ex-girlfriend Claudia.

The Islander admitted the pair had "unfinished business" but once he arrived, he soon realised that chapter was well and truly shut.

After Claudia made clear she only had eyes for Austen, Jason made the decision to leave the Villa just 24 hours after his arrival.

In an exclusive exit interview – which you can watch above – Jason admitted the moment he knew things were done.

"I knew after my conversation with Claudia I wanted to leave the Villa 'cause I got that closure and I didn't want to be fake and pursuing other things I didn't want," he explained.

As for where his relationship stands with Claudia, the Islander hasn't given it much thought.

"I don't know what type of relationship Claudia and I will have after this, it's not really on my mind," he admitted.

Before announcing his exit, Jason held a toast to the Villa.

"To everyone in the Villa, thanks for being so inviting to me when I came in. I came for a specific reason, and I had to act on what your mum told me, Claudia, and I'm glad I did.

"I've come to find out I don't want to be with you, you don't want to be with me, and on that note I wish you all the best of luck. If I were to stay in the Villa, I'd have to be fake. I've never been fake in my life, so on that note, I'm out."

While Jason didn't have any intentions on getting to know the other girl Islanders, he did notice cliques formed in the Villa, which were "a little bit harder to penetrate" coming into the experience so late.

While he didn't get the girl this time, Jason is still taking something away from the experience.

"I hope to catch up with some of the Islanders back home. I think I made a couple friends and some people that I'm gonna reach out to afterwards," he said.
