Love Island Australia's Claudia Bonifazio reveals which TV star slid into her DMs as he 'sets the record straight' on the message

A reality TV star has responded after Love Island Australia's Claudia Bonifazio exposed him for sliding into her DMs – and shared the voice note to prove it.

Too Hot Too Handle's Chase DeMoor appeared on the Where's Your Head At? podcast on Wednesday to "set the record straight", one week after Claudia revealed the message alongside her partner Austen Bugeja on the same show.

The voice note in question said: "Hey listen, I'm on vacation in the Gold Coast and I don't know if you're around. Me and Josh from Love Island UK are going to be in the Gold Coast for New Year's, so if you're around, pull up..."

After being exposed for his flirtatious message online, Chase – who knew that Claudia was in a happy relationship with Austen at the time of the message – has since spoken out about what happened in his own words.

Chase told the podcast he "1000 per cent" wasn't sliding into Claudia's DMs for romantic purposes, and just wanted to hang out with her in a group setting.

But host Anna McEvoy was quick to ask: "Why didn't you reach out to Austen?"

"I know what I'm doing here – obviously, Claudia's a good looking girl!" Chase laughed.

"[It was] during the day, I said I was with other people and [she] could come up and visit. I was not sliding in [to the DMs!]! 1000 per cent, no."

"Can you understand where Austen is coming from?" Anna replied. "He's madly in love, in their minds they're going to be together forever, and you've hit up his girlfriend. Can you understand where he's coming from?"

"I think it comes from a place of insecurity, that's honestly how I feel," Chase added.

"You don't think there's a million people in Claudia's DMs? I think he's worried about me in particular because of my extensive resume."

Chase said that while he has nothing against Claudia, he was fuming that Austen had roasted him during his podcast interview by saying: "The guy wears contacts, his eyes aren't that colour! These are real eyes, bro!"

Chase responded with: "When you guys break up in a couple of months... I have done five reality shows, I know that these relationships almost never last.

"If he thinks they're going to run off into the sunset, all power to him. But when it doesn't happen, I don't want to hear moping."

Chase was so adamant that the pair will break up in six months that he even made a bet with Austen.

"If they [stay together in the next six months] I will paint my face like a clown and publicly apologise to the entire internet that I was a d---head and wrong," Chase said.

When asked if he had a message for Austen, he added: "If you make it six months, not only will you get my apology but I will pay personally out of my pocket for any date that you and Claudia want to go on.

"I'll get the yacht, I'll pay for the dinner, they can run up a tab if they want."

Chase said that if they broke up he would want to take Claudia on the date himself, so "it's really just Austen that will miss out!"

"If they break up – what I want from her is an explanation of why [Claudia] specifically took my DM and exposed. Why me! Why not anybody else in your inbox?" he added.

When asked if he had his sights set on Claudia now, Chase laughed: "Now I have. Before, no! I like to compete."
