Things started off strong and the pair were "texting every day", but Courtney revealed border closures made it hard for them to explore their connection further.

"He can't come to the Gold Coast, I can't go to Melbourne without coming home. The border closures caused quite a problem for us," Courtney told 9Entertainment.

"We had a really strong connection but being apart from each other and being as fragile as we were has made us drift apart."

Noah agreed and added, "It does suck and it is really sad because I do think we get along really well. The timing with everything at the moment is hard."

Courtney and Noah didn't have much time together in the Villa to explore a deeper connection, because he only came in during Casa Week.

Then Courtney only realised she really liked him after he started to get to know Jade, another Villa newcomer.

That is one of her biggest regrets during her time in the Villa — "taking so long to figure out where [her] heart was".

But despite Courtney and Noah getting along really well, she knows that one thing could have made a big difference.

"If we had time as well, we would've been just as strong," Courtney said referring to the other Couples in the Villa.

Currently Courtney and Noah don't follow each other on social media, but are adamant they still remain good friends.

"I don't think so much anything changed, I still really care about her. I think she's an amazing person. I can't really fault her," Noah said.

While their relationship might not have worked out, both Islanders have confirmed they're not seeing anyone else at the moment and are trying to remain respectful towards each other.

"I need to make sure my feelings for Noah are gone and then I'll try and move forward and enjoy being single while still making sure he's OK," Courtney said.

Noah said, "I want her to be happy and I want her to feel comfortable."
