Love Island Australia Season 2 premiere date announced

The second season of Love Island Australia will premiere on Monday, October 7 at 8.45pm on Nine.

Sophie Monk will return to host the show, i.e. play Cupid for the next lot of beautiful young Aussie singles trying to find love in the sun.

Sophie told us her excitement levels for the second season are "out of control".

"It's a great show. The audience loves it," she said. "The problem is if you watch it you're going to be addicted. Like you're not not going to watch it. I don't think people realise that you watch one episode and get into it, then you're hooked."

Love Island Australia was one of the most-talked about shows last year and introduced us to a sexy group of Islanders including Cassidy, Tayla, Erin, Millie, Grant, Eden, Josh and Mark. They wanted to find love with each other and looked ridiculously good while doing it.

And while love is the underlying theme of the show, it's still a game, and the game of love includes temptation in the form of sexy new singles who join the Villa throughout the season (known as 'Bombs') and the promise of a cash prize to the most popular couple left standing by the end of the series.

Then comes the catch: one Islander from the winning couple is given the chance to share the money with their partner or take it all.

Sophie couldn't share too many details about the show just yet, but she did say the "very attractive" cast is "is very diverse in every area, from religion to education to occupation to race — everything. So it'll be very interesting".
