Photographer recreates LEGO wedding after losing work due to coronavirus

The wedding industry has been hit hard by the coronavirus crisis, with many countries only allowing five people to gather for a wedding — and that's including the people getting married!

As a result, many weddings have been postponed, which means other areas of the industry have been impacted, from designers and photographers to venues and caterers.

One wedding photographer decided there was still a way to capture the beauty and romance of such a special day while in isolation.

He just had to get creative.

Photographer Chris Wallace from Cheshire in England decided to create a wedding out of LEGO once social distancing policies kicked in.

But it wasn't just the big day itself that Chris captured. Having photographed over 700 weddings over his career, Chris made sure he included all of the special moments that lead up to the exchange of the vows.

He even wrote a narrative to go with the photos, telling the love story of Florence and Fred, who met in a warehouse after locking eyes on a conveyor belt and decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

Chris' tale was romantic but also didn't shy away from the reality of the shoot, which included googling a sunset on his computer for their pre-wedding photos, and Florence not having any bridesmaids because they "were in isolation and due to inflated prices, were far too expensive to buy from Amazon".

There were also some fun, cheeky details from Chris' shoot, including the star-studded guests (Chewbacca, Hans Solo and 1980 Lego spaceman) and Florence being walked down the aisle by her famous father, Harry Potter.

Chris told Insider that it took him three days to create his LEGO wedding.

"It felt so good creating something positive when everything you read is so negative," he said.
