Hamish Blake's cheeky 'phone a friend' gesture for Fleur and Sarah backfires during LEGO Masters 2021 build
The moment Fleur revealed she didn't want to get Sparta as a theme for her and Fleur's Castles and Cannonballs build in Episode 2 of LEGO® Masters 2021, host Hamish Blake was secretly hoping she'd luck out.
Fleur's husband is obsessed with Sparta, so much that he wanted to name their son Hyperion, a name from Greek mythology. But Fleur knows little about the ancient city and felt getting the theme would be like "my husband cursing me".

So when Fleur selected that time period by chance, Hamish jumped up and punched the air with glee.
"When Fleur picked the Spartan I cheered because I knew it would be good television, so I felt like I kind of had to make it up to her, a bit," he said.
Feeling guilty, Hamish decided to give Fleur and Sarah the opportunity to get some tips on how to build a Spartan-themed castle from Fleur's husband via a video call.
"Is it like the 'phone a friend' thing?" Fleur asked.
Despite the gesture being a make-good, Hamish only gave Fleur 15-seconds to talk to her husband which is "half of what you get on [Who Wants to Be a] Millionaire".

With time ticking, Fleur got down to business and asked her husband to tell her about Spartan architecture.
"You need a well to kick people down. You need a parliament, like a senate," he said.
Hamish then jumped in, "Mate, she's got eight hours, she can't build a senate, something small."

Fleur tried to get the conversation back on track by asking, "What word comes to mind when you think of Sparta?".
"Ummm," was all Fleur's husband could say before Hamish ended the video call.
"So not helpful," Fleur exclaimed.
"You are so mean," Sarah added. "That's meaner than before."
Hamish burst into laughter before joking about how helpful he is, even adding that he actually gave more than 15 seconds to chat.
