'Never before': Hamish Blake stops the clock as 'shock' twist is announced on LEGO Masters 2024
Teams were already feeling the pressure during the epic Is It Fake? Challenge on LEGO® Masters Australia vs The World 2024.
But heart rates only went up when host Hamish Blake stopped the clock just one hour into the challenge that required teams to replicate an item from a French bakery scene.
"We're going to do something we've never done before," Hamish announced.

In an incredible moment – which you can watch above – the host revealed an unprecedented twist that had the power to change the outcome of the challenge.

"We are going to offer you the chance to swap your item," Hamish said.
Teams gasped and others hesitated as they decided whether or not to change their designs.
Teams were initially given just 60 seconds to select one item to recreate, so it wasn't surprising that some teams felt they had made the wrong decision, especially with an elimination looming.

"You've got 60 seconds to make that choice," Hamish explained. "If you want to swap, go now."
Teams scrambled to to find a new build item.

"Our wheelbarrow, it's going to be a nightmare," Shane reflected on his original choice.
What he chose instead had other contestants raising their eyebrows.
"I'm shocked," gasped Team Germany's Felix.
"This is ridiculous, what is going on?" said a confused Eric.
"Regrets! Regrets!" Dianne said with her head in her hands.
