Exclusive: Janine and Simmo reveal future plans after their epic Blessing Ceremony on My Mum Your Dad 2023

There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Simmo and Janine decided to continue their romance away from the series at the My Mum Your Dad 2023 Blessing Ceremony.

Simmo's daughter Chook and Janine's daughter Tiarn officially gave their seal of approval, and one day after the ceremony took place the parents sat down with 9Entertainment to chat about their connection and future.

"There is a little bit of distance between us – we have discussed him coming to mine, me going to him or to meet in the middle," Janine said about the pair's living arrangements.

"I think with Simmo and I, it will be a typical slow burn – he's got a business, I'm busy doing my thing. We just want to take it slow."

"To foster a connection and ultimately love long-term. That was my end game, and it appears me and Janine are off to a great start," Simmo added.

"She's such a bubbly, beautiful person inside and out. We just had so many things it common. We'll take it slow, but we'll be seeing each other as frequently as we can.

"We planned a surf trip to Tasmania and Bali, and some stand-up paddle boarding... the future is looking really good for us."

Janine added that she was immediately drawn to Simmo based on how much of a "gentleman" he was.

"I don't think I once opened a car door by myself, pulled a chair by myself... even my drinks never really got to the bottom. He was an absolute little gem," she said.
