'Most important' indulgence to Aussies booking a hotel, according to new data
Forget the bed, the location or the facilities, there's one indulgence Aussies want to enjoy the most when on holiday.
A buffet breakfast.
Because when else can you pile fruit on your plate, get an omelette cooked to order, sip multiple different fruit juices have yet another pain au chocolat... and then go back for more.

Data from booking site Luxury Escapes found 38 per cent of Aussies ranked a stand-out buffet breakfast as their top holiday indulgence.
We're just surprised it wasn't more.
"For many Aussies, a buffet breakfast isn't just a meal – it's a key part of the holiday experience," Luxury Escapes CEO, Adam Schwab said.

"Whether it's a freshly made omelette in Bali, a seafood spread in Bangkok, or warm pastries in the South of France, a great buffet can set the tone for the entire day."
The company says more hotels are pushing the boundaries of what a buffet can be, offering everything from ice cream stations to gourmet local dishes.

They recommend the breakfast buffet at Sofitel Fiji as one of their standout options.
Diet-busting indulgences there include a pancake and pancake station, a make your own salad spot and an egg station cooking up everything from scrambled eggs to omelettes with all the extras including baked beans, tomatoes and mushrooms.
You can even enjoy in a breakfast curry - no, it's not too early. Or try some Fijian dishes such as purini pudding.
If that's not enough there are Chinese dishes including steamed rice and noodles. There's even ice cream on offer.
