The highs and lows of the Hayne Plane
After nine years of enthralling rugby league fans with his amazing journey from a housing commission kid to one of the game's elite players, Parramatta fullback Jarryd Hayne has quit the NRL to pursue his dream of playing NFL.
The news came as a jolt to the heart of Eels fans and has sent shockwaves around the code.
But here we celebrate the rollercoaster ride of the Hayne Plane - from his debut in 2006 and his dice with death shooting experience in 2008, through to his two Dally M Medals and commanding performance in the 2014 State of Origin series.
Jarryd Hayne debuted in 2006, with 16 tries in 17 games for Parramatta.
He marked his State of Origin debut a year later with a try in Game I of the 2007 series.
His try scoring feats came at all levels, like this effort in a 2007 semi-final against Canterbury.
He was then vaulted into the Kangaroos side, debuting in a 2007 Test against New Zealand.
But in 2008, Hayne got a wake-up call when he was shot at in Kings Cross.
Hayne was peerless in 2009 as he lifted the Eels from a mid-table position to grand finalists.
He also starred again in a losing NSW State of Origin series effort.
And then won his first Dally M Medal for a blazing back half of the season.
