Ryan Harris retires from cricket ahead of Ashes

Ryan Harris has shocked cricket by announcing his retirement from the game - ending the career of one of Australia's greatest paceman.
In a blow ahead of the first Ashes Test, the 35-year-old made the decision after a chronic knee injury flared during the warm-up game against Essex.
Making his Test debut in 2010, Harris quickly became a lynchpin of the Australian attack.
He leaves the game with a record of 113 wickets in 27 Tests and 44 wickets in One Day Internationals.
The NSW-born paceman spent seven seasons with the Redbacks.
Before moving to Brisbane in 2008 to join the Bulls.
Where he won a Sheffield Shield title and and three One Day Cups.
Harris made his ODI debut against South Africa in 2009.
But he wouldn't be picked again by his country until a year later.
...when he claimed five wickets against Pakistan in a man of the match effort in Adelaide.
He took six wickets in his debut Test against New Zealand in 2010.
Harris starred later in the year as Australia beat England in the Third Ashes Test.
