EXCLUSIVE: Maddison Levi's reveal on 'hothead' sister as injury return date nominated

When it comes to individual battles on the field, there's not many players who have overcome Maddison Levi.

Having played for the Gold Coast Suns in the AFLW and recently taken out the women's sevens world player of the year title, Levi has left opponents in her wake.

During the Paris Olympics, her tournament-high 14 tries made her the leading points scorer of the tournament and left no doubt who is the best player in the world.

However, as she continues her recovery from a fractured thumb suffered in the Perth Sevens, Levi revealed in an interview on Stan Sport's Between Two Posts, there's one player she can't get past: her sister, Teagan.

"Back then (during childhood) and probably still to this day, I just got manhandled by Teagan. I succumb to her," she revealed.

"I don't know if you've actually realised on the field but she's got a real hothead but I've kind of learnt I'm the only one that can calm her down so if I get hotheaded then it escalates."

Despite being the oldest of the two, Maddison went on to reveal the difference in talent during their younger years.

"Growing up she made every team and I was the first dropped from every team probably so just having her to aspire to and look up to kind of also helps me lead the way through multiple sports," she said.

The 22-year-old was on the sidelines watching as Australia won the Perth tournament but had to sit back from afar for the Vancouver tournament.

Levi admitted that was a "frustrating" experience to Wide World of Sports this week but on Between Two Posts revealed she's looking at a return for the Hong Kong Sevens in late March.
