Racing royalty farewells Bart Cummings

Legendary Australian horse trainer Bart Cummings has been remembered as a 'man of the people' at his state funeral.
Cummings, who won a record 12 Melbourne Cups, died aged 87 on August 30.
Racing royalty turned out to remember him at Sydney's St Mary's Cathedral, with his son and fellow trainer Anthony saying his dad spent time with kings and queens, prime ministers and premiers, yet treated them just as he did the common man.
Bart Cummings was easily Australia's most famous horse trainer.
His family agreed to the state funeral to help celebrate his rich life.
Bart is said to have touched people from all walks of life.
NSW Premier Mike Baird was among the mourners.
... so too Australia's Governor General Peter Cosgrove.
Bart's wife, Valmae, to whom he was married for 61 years.
He fought back tears as he remembered the man who shaped his life.
He said his dad never believed in the word 'no'.
Mourners were told Bart 'ran his course with great courage'.
