The USA have held on!

The USA's unbeaten record at the Olympics is in tact!

Gabby Williams sunk a three for France with five seconds left and then the USA were fouled, leading to two free throws.

Then Williams sunk another shot! But her foot was on the line and the USA win 67-66.

USA have not lost since 1992.

"Could the ending be any more dramatic? ... immense frustration for France," commentator Brenton Speed said on Nine.

This is so close!

Gabby Williams sinks a bucket for France and it's game on still with a timeout called.

USA leads 60-59.

There's a minute and a half left here.

It's heating up!

The USA are back in the lead at the end of the third quarter.

The score is 45 -43.

That quarter had a lot going on.

France hit back to back threes with eight minutes to go. Marine Fauthoux hit one and then put her hands in front of her face to let the USA know about it.

Then two minutes later the USA hit their own back-to-back threes.

France were fired up after they though their was a foul on Johannes from A'ja Wilson.

Andrew Gaze believed they were hard done by.

"That's a foul, straight across the head, a lucky break for the United States," he said on Nine.

What's a bronze medallist eat for dessert?

Lachlan Harper

Matthew Glaetzer has been in full training mode during the Olympics.

No room for cheat meals.

Not even a chocolate mousse, he'd been desperately craving.

The day before his bronze medal glory, he revealed he was looking forward to a mousse because he hadn't had dessert.

But what was more motivating? The medal or mousse?

"Definitely a medal," he told Nine.

"The hotel switched the desserts up on me so that mousse is gone but we'll see what's there tonight. I'll definitely treat myself."

'Oh my gosh': Unlikely bronze medallist's reaction

Lachlan Harper

Matthew Glaetzer was in disbelief after his bronze medal in the Keirin.

The Aussies's achievement came after a crash right before the finish line and he admitted to Nine he was "grateful god was looking after me" as he managed to stay upright.

"Coming out of the final corner I was almost giving up there knowing I was in last and I gave everything. Then everyone crashed and I was like oh my gosh I've got bronze. It's just crazy," he said.

"Things definitely had to fall my way, mind the pun, but super grateful, this is amazing."

USA facing unwanted feat

Lachlan Harper

The French are up 30-25 in the third quarter against the USA.

If they lose this basketball gold medal match, it's the first time the USA have lost a women's Olympics clash since 1992.

Gold medal women's basketball match underway!

Anna Pavlou

The women;s basketball gold medal match is well and truly underway, as the USA take on France.

France evidently havem a lot of home grown support behind them, with this crowd already going insane.

The USA have a 20-18 lead in the second quarter.
