The Algerian star took it 30-27. Her team carried her on their shoulders as she sent love to her supporters in the crowd with the Algeria flag draped across her shoulders.

Khelif staying on the outside. Not as aggressive in this round. She knows she's won the first two rounds, looks like she's trying to stay out of danger in this round.

Khelif lands a right hook. Yang seems a little bit lost because she usually fights off the backfoot but since Khelif is also tall, she's had to press forward more.

Khelif feeling confident. Dancing on the backfoot. Yang has had some success but not sure if it's going to change the outcome.

Khelif celebrates with her corner. This should be the Algerian's to lose.

Khelif is letting the hands go but Yang finds some success as well. Khelif finds success with the right hand again. She's not troubled by Yang's southpaw style.

Khelif has found success with the straight right. Yang senses she needs to get more involved.

The crowd screams "Imane!' as Khelif attacks from the centre of the ring. Both tall fighters in this one.

Yang lands some straight punches. Both fighters trying to establish the jab. Yang finds a short left hand on the counter as Khelif goes on the front foot.

Khelif finds a big right hand as the crowd screams for the Algerian. Khelif finds another right hand late in the round. Yang is on the front foot which is unusual for her as she usually stays on the outside.

Judges give it to Khelif 10-9 across the board.

Confronting moment that marred final

PARIS: The women's 10,000m final was marred by a confronting moment in which a Frenchwoman collapsed and was stretchered from the track, before Kenyan Beatrice Chebet won her second gold medal of the Games.

Alessia Zarbo was seven kilometres into the 10km race when she collapsed at the Stade de France.

Medical staff rushed to the 22-year-old's aid in the third lane and she was stretchered away as the lead pack whisked by.
