The top spot on this list might not surprise many people.
But other names on the list are sure to be contentious - with a couple of superstars tumbling down the pecking order.
Here, Wide World of Sports ranks the best 15 halves in the NRL.
15. Luke Keary (Roosters)
Came through a make or break season last year with flying colours, showing he had overcome his injury problems to be the Roosters' main man in attack.
Coach Trent Robinson will rely heavily on his experience and game management again in 2024.
14. Jarome Luai (Panthers)
The real test for this much-talked about five-eighth will come in 2025, when he goes from the first placed Panthers to the last-placed Tigers.
Could turn the Tigers around or may struggle - time will tell.
13. Cody Walker (Rabbitohs)
On his day as good as anyone on this list but consistency isn't his strong suit and that is why he is well down the pecking order.
Smart rival players know how to push his buttons and put him off his game and he needs to overcome this to return to his best.
12. Tom Dearden (Cowboys)
Without doubt the most improved playmaker over the last couple of seasons - went from a kid who lost 20-odd games straight to a key figure in the Cowboys' attacking machine, especially in 2022 when they were the surprise packet of the season.
11. Adam Reynolds (Broncos)
Not the quickest playmaker in the league, but may well be the smartest.
Steers the young Broncos around the field with class and confidence and without him, there is no way they would have reached last year's big dance.
10. Dylan Brown (Eels)
Parra fans realised just how good this bloke is when he wasn't in the team last season.
A lot of his work goes unnoticed off the ball but he takes the pressure off Mitchell Moses and comes up with big plays himself.
9. Mitchell Moses (Eels)
Led the Eels to the 2022 grand final but came back to the field a little last season, especially when his partner Dylan Brown wasn't on the park.
Still has blistering speed and a fine kicking game and will be a key man in the Eels' hopes of returning to finals football.
8. Daly Cherry-Evans (Sea Eagles)
Gets his place for sheer longevity and inspiring leadership.
Has been Manly's main man for over a decade and even though he turns 35 in a few weeks, he just keeps on producing the goods.
7. Ben Hunt (Dragons)
May not really want to be at the Red V, but sure hasn't been playing like it.
Tough and strong, he is the heart and soul of a club that has struggled to keep its head above water in recent seasons and may do it tough again in 2024.
